Get Involved
The Global Foundation for the Neglect of Digital Culture (GFNDC) actively seeks contributors, collaborators, and volunteers who understand the absurd, the obsolete, and the structurally unsound. No matter your background—if you value forgotten bytes over trending bytes, we want to hear from you.
Current Open Positions
- Digital Archivist (Full-Time, Remote/On-Site): Responsible for maintaining catalogues, auditing file trees, and ingesting external digital donations. Familiarity with ISO metadata standards and wine-stained backup drives preferred.
- Junior Systems Technician: Assist with RAID restoration, air-gapped tape handling, and keeping the cold vaults literally cold. Shift-based rotation, includes offsite archive visits.
- Legal Research Associate: Conduct research in emerging cases involving retroactive licensing, digital copyright disputes, and posthumous account recovery. Juris Doctorate preferred, but not required if you read Terms & Conditions for fun.
- Foundation Janitor (Part-Time, San Francisco HQ): Maintain cleanliness of server-adjacent hallways, digital artifact storage boxes, and the multi-purpose nostalgia conference room. Includes ghostbuster-themed cleaning cart. Weekdays, 6am–10am.
- Software Emulation Developer: Develop cross-platform emulator modules for dead web plugins. Strong C knowledge, and even stronger emotional resilience against plugin.js (1999) spaghetti.
- Volunteer Outreach Coordinator: Help coordinate over 300 satellite volunteers contributing to global subdomain salvage initiatives. Must be okay with Zoom calls at 2am with people in weird time zones.
- Nightwatch Integrity Officer: Part-time, 100% trust-based. Monitor inactive drives and occasionally whisper affirmations into deprecated APIs. No actual skills required, but you must be calm under fluorescent lights.
